This property is a beautiful old 1940’s Queenslander, which has been extensively restored, remodelled, renovated and rewired. It sits atop a ridge comprising of 2.2 hectares, just over 5 acres of lush pastureland. Soil is all deep brown/red basaltic having good qualities for the cultivation of lawns and gardens along with plenty of water.

Living in the Tropics of North Queensland is a unique experience. Tarzali, the Hamlet between Millaa Millaa and Malanda bounteous in rich history, and is part of the World Heritage Rain Forest. Birdlife, (King Parrots, Lorikeets, frog mouth owls, just to name a very few). Kangaroos adorn the property at times and it is the only area to see the Lumholtz, (tree kangaroo). Low humidity is important, as you tend to think, Tropics!! Humidity and mosquitos, not so as we are some 2,800 feet up from the coast.

A small community, in which people still care about each other, is a wonderful place to work for yourself and bring up a family. Talking about work, the North is extremely short of all tradespeople, hence an opportunity to be part of this community and work in the wider surrounding area. A great place if you wish to study the Rain Forest and its wildlife. The property also leans towards a variety of nurseries, as apart from the 80,000 litres of pure rainwater, there are also springs at the bottom of the property. A 69 square metre zinc anneal ribbed metal shed is ideal for the workshop. Extra parking has been catered for.

The grounds are all landscaped with gardens, trees, flowers combined with an earth coloured driveway with an entry and exit. All 5 acres are kept mown. Also great to practice the golf chipping.

The house itself is also a piece of history. Built in the late 1940’s all hardwood timber from the local Tarzali Mill, it was then milled in Cairns and built by Mr Charlie Watts who was a Master Plasterer, hence all the intricate cornicing has been maintained in the lounge, hallway and 2 bedrooms. The house was then owned for some years by one of the Cairns families before it came back home to Tarzali some 11 years ago as a highset. There are 3 very large bedrooms, master with large WIR, and leadlight window, second with mirrored glass door robe, and the third with a free standing robe and French doors leading out to the west side veranda.

Lounge room with leadlight front door, and recessed lighting. Separate Dining Room, Separate Kitchen with black imitation granite bench tops, two pack white cupboards, complete with dishwasher, 2door fridge/freezer, microwave and large 800mm gas oven, with 5 gas cookers and electric grill.

Bathroom has twin vanity, large mirror, shower and toilet. There is a second toilet and basin.

All the floors are the original hardwood and have been rejuvenated to their past glory producing a honey gold colour.

There are 2 gas heaters, along with 2 dehumidifiers.

The house is completely security screened and has 3 wide verandas, lovely for intimate dinners/drinks or just the serenity and bird listening.

Downstairs has a third built in and comprises of an Office, (internal and external entries), laundry, sewing and ironing nooks along with a large mudroom and internal stairs.

The other two thirds is all concreted and under cover, which is great for those parties and warm summer evenings, and is very private because of all the landscaping.

Views from the kitchen, dining room, lounge and 2 bedrooms are breath taking as you look towards the green valleys, and hills far away, not to mention Mt. Bartle Frere, highest mountain in Queensland from the east veranda and within ½ hour to its base.

Schools, shopping, amusements, activities, walking trails, swimming, scouts, and other sports etc all within a very short distance. Cairns is only an hour away, going either done the world famous Gillies Highway, or the Kuranda Range, both beautiful scenic routes. Port Douglas 1.5 hours, Great Barrier Reef 1 hour, Mareeba 40 minutes which is also rich in WW11 history, Millaa Millaa Falls, and the great Baron Falls are sights to behold in the wet.

School bus virtually at door, including a bus for the Catholic School in Atherton, 20 mimutes.
